Dr Stephen Rowan qualified in Medicine from Aberdeen University in 2003. He has trained in both Scotland and N.Ireland during the completion of his higher specialist training in general and respiratory medicine. He became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2006 and completed the speciality certificate in Respiratory medicine in 2010.

Dr Rowan has an interest in bronchiectasis and pulmonary function. He completed his PhD through Queen’s University of Belfast and has published his work in Lung Clearance Index and Bronchiectasis in the worlds leading respiratory journal.

From 2013, Dr Rowan has been a Consultant Respiratory Physician at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald and is the clinical lead for Lung cancer and interventional bronchoscopy using Endobronchial Ultrasound. He has specialist clinical interests in lung cancer, bronchiectasis, bronchoscopy and pleural disease.
